The thesis presented by the researcher (Hani Taher Salman) aims to prepare proposed sculptural designs for the spaces of government departments in Basra governorate.
The thesis included highlighting the importance of sculptural work in terms of its employment within the spaces of the state departments in Basra governorate and the aesthetic treatments added within those spaces.
The thesis concluded that contemporary sculpture in public space is no longer a tool to embody the power of blocking and prevention or to consecrate the strict hierarchy between the authority and the citizen, but has turned into an interactive visual discourse that seeks the freedom of urban space and make it a communal space for human communication and formative transparency.
